I left home young and not till old do I come back,
少小离家老大回，
My accent is unchanged ,but my hair no longer black.
乡音无改鬓毛衰。
The children don′t know me, whom I meet on the way ,

“where do you come from, reverend Sir?” they smile and say.

                                               English for fun(趣味英语)
1．Have a memeory like an elephant.
记忆力特别好。字面意思未记忆力跟大象一样好。自古以来，西方人士就认为象是记忆力很好的动物。据说有人猎象，象受伤逃走。几年后，这个人与那只象相遇，它还记得曾经袭击过它的敌人，向他猛扑过去。由此就产生了这条言语。这一表达法表示对不利于自己的事情记忆力特别好的意思。

2．Someone and his big mouth.
多嘴多舌。直译是“某人和他的喋喋不休的大嘴。”在由于说错话或者多说话而造成严重事态的场合使用。如：Me and my big mouth. If I hadn’t told the chief I could read German, I wouldn’t have to be doing all this translation work. 多怪我多嘴多舌。如果我不告诉头头我能读德文，他也不会叫我干全部的翻译工作啦。

3．Be down in the mouth.垂头丧气。直译为“两个嘴角向下耷拉着”，就是一副沮丧的嘴脸。

4．One man’s meat is another man’s poisson.各有所好。直译为“一个人的肉是另一个人的毒药”，指这个人喜欢的东西可能恰恰就是另外一个人讨厌的。比较像我们中国的萝卜青菜，各有所爱。
5．a man-about-town.浪荡公子。直译为“喜欢在城里各处逛荡的男人”。城里各处当然是指酒吧，剧场，夜总会，舞厅等地。这些人有大量的金钱，打扮极为阔绰，永远有美女相伴。

6．Have the devil’s own luck大走红运。直译为“有魔鬼本身的运气”，这是西方人的传统思想，他们认为魔鬼本身创造命运，他们干什么都会成功。

7．Swallow someone’s line.
轻易相信花言巧语。Line在这里解释为“钓丝”，在头脑里很容易出现“把鱼饵和钓丝一下子吞进去”的具体形象。Swallow是一下子吞咽的意思，指“对别人的话完全信以为真。”

8．Not stand the light of day.立即露出马脚。直译为“耐不住白昼的光线”。在黑暗的地方还可以敷衍，但在光天化日之下，缺点便暴露无疑啦。

9．a white lie善意的谎言。这是一个巧妙的表达方法，在英语中，white是纯洁，善良的意思。所以白色谎言指无害的有时为善意的谎言，十分贴切。

10．Go jump the lake.滚开。直译是“去往湖里跳”，也就是这里没有你的事，成年人也使用，但多为儿童。语气相当严厉，一般只能用于朋友或者亲近的人之间。
